Clinics & Services
To reduce the risk of cervical cancer, it is advised that smear tests are performed every three years on all women between the ages of 25 and 65. It is sometimes necessary to perform smear tests more often than this. The Health Authority will notify you when your test is due. If you have any questions regarding smear tests please feel free to discuss them with the practice nurses or doctors.
The doctors and nurses provide advice on all aspects of family planning. Implants and coils can be fitted at the surgery.
Child Immunisation Clinic
This clinic is held on Wednesdays with 2 practice nurses. Childhood immunisations are given by the practice nurse. If your child is ill it is important that you attend one of the ordinary doctors' surgeries, to prevent spread of infection to the other well babies.
These are run by the practice nurses and take place on a regular basis. For further details please enquire at reception.
They carry out blood tests, blood pressure control, smoking cessation and weight control working under the supervision of the practice nurses.
We have midwives at the surgery who provide antenatal and postnatal care. Throughout your pregnancy the doctors and midwives work closely with each other. Please book directly with the midwife if you think you may be pregnant and they will be able to discuss your antenatal care in more detail.
Minor surgical procedures are performed at the surgery.
This screening test for breast cancer is offered to our female patients between the ages of 50 and 70. You will be notified by the Hereford Breast Screening Service by post when this is due. They will also write to you with the result of the screening test. Please feel free to discuss any concerns you may have with one of the doctors or nurses.
